Pending the success of the Oculus Expedition, the goal for future applications would be to expand the limits of the virtual reality designed for its use.
Although the Oculus Expedition focuses on the Moon and limited parts of the solar system, it is important to continue its growth by making it applicable to all subject areas in education. Math, science, language arts, and social studies can benefit from the use of the Oculus Rift and 3D virtual reality. Students could learn about geometric shapes by wandering in abstract pieces of art. Prepositions can easily be taught to students by allowing them to experience the role that prepositions play in sentence structure. The past could come to life by using the Oculus Rift to send students into significant time periods.
There are unlimited ways to apply virtual reality to education, and the Oculus Team hopes to open the doors for future explorations.
